Extremistische moslimsite toont onthoofding Amerikaan

DUBAI - Op een video die dinsdag is verschenen op een website van moslimextremisten is te zien hoe vijf gemaskerde mannen een Amerikaan onthoofden. De daders zeggen de man, wiens lijk zaterdag in Bagdad is gevonden, te straffen voor de mishandeling van Iraakse gevangenen door Amerikaanse militairen.
De in een oranje overall geklede man zegt wie hij is. "Mijn naam is Nick Berg, mijn vaders naam is Michael, mijn moeders naam is Suzanne. Ik woon in Philadelphia." Achter hem staan vijf gemaskerde mannen met hoofddoeken op. Een van hen leest een verklaring voor, waarna zij de man op zijn zij rollen en hem het hoofd afsnijden. "Allah akbar", schreeuwen de daders - Allah is groot.
"Aan de moeders en de vrouwen van Amerikaanse soldaten, wij vertellen jullie dat wij de Amerikaanse regering hebben aangeboden deze gijzelaar te ruilen voor enkele van de gevangenen in Abu Ghraib. Dat is geweigerd. Wij vertellen jullie dat de waardigheid van de moslimmannen en -vrouwen in Abu Ghraib en elders alleen terug te krijgen is met bloed en zielen. Jullie krijgen niets van ons behalve doodskist na doodskist."
Het slachtoffer is geen soldaat, maar een zelfstandige Amerikaanse ondernemer van 26 die in Irak werk zocht op het gebied van communicatie-infrastructuur. Volgens zijn ouders werd hij sinds 9 april vermist. Hij was toen van plan naar huis terug te keren, omdat hij geen werk had kunnen vinden.
De video is getiteld "Abu Musab al-Zarqawi slacht een Amerikaan af". Het is onduidelijk of Al-Zarqawi - een terrorist die banden heeft met Osama bin Laden - zelf in de video te zien is, of dat hij de verantwoordelijkheid opeist. De video is verschenen op een website genaamd Muntada al-Ansar waarop vaker verklaringen en opnames van extremistische organisaties zoals Al-Qaida worden gepubliceerd.

Het filmpje heb ik gezien en werd er niet echt vrolijk van als je dat ziet wat voor achterlijke kloten honden (druk het nog zacht uit) die moslims wel niet zijn...ik ga daarom ook geen link posten met het filmpje..stuur maar een pm als je benieuwd bent...maar ik waarschuw je...dit is dus zeer zeker geen grap of trucage...werd er zelf al misselijk van en kreeg een pak voor me hart

Je moet eens weten wat daar allemaal in Irak gebeurd. De amerikanen zijn ook geen lieverdjes hoor. Ik probeer het niet goed te praten, maar wij krijgen echt nog niet eens 10% te zien van wat er allemaal gebeurd.

Hoe ziek het ook is, het filmpje is gemaakt door de VS zelf, alleen maar om de aandacht af te leiden van de misdaden die ze zelf doen. Lees de volgende verklaringen maar eens:
Nick Berg Killer:AP/ CIA Resurrect Dead al-Zarqawi
CIA is having a continuity problem. Unnamed CIA officials have told AP (Associated Propaganda) that the killer of Nick Berg was Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The problem is that he was reported to have been killed months ago.
So-called "intelligence officials" said that there was "high probability" that the person speaking on the Nick Berg beheading video was al-Zarqawi, "a CIA official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity."
The anonymous CIA official did not however reveal if the dead and newly resurrected al-Zarqawi was a private contractor of said agency.
Even though the "terrorists" in the beheading video look like unemployed SAG (Screen Actors Guild) actors, the CIA claims that this is al Zarqawi.
Contradicting AP propaganda,Islamic militants claim he was killed in a bombing attack in Northern Iraq (See Iraq militants claim al-Zarqawi is dead")
I look at the beheading and I see that the terrorists are WHITE and FAT.
They are wearing BULLET PROOF VESTS and the guy on the right has WHITE SHOES.
The prisoner is wearing an ORANGE JUMPSUIT that is the same color and style used in the American run prison.
The Arabic is bad and CNN has determined that it is not the guy who the web site says it is.
You look at the pictures and you tell me what you see. When you play "what's wrong with this picture" - it scares the hell out of you.
An American was beheaded today in retaliation for Bush's failed policy of torturing prisoners. I call it Bush's policy because as soon as 9-11 happened Bush started talking about when torture can be used and tried to distinguish various of war so as to justify torture.

READER: Have you seen the original website that is said to have broadcast the video of the beheading of Nick Berg. We can't find it. Does it exist ? WRH: I doubt it. The last time they publicized the URL of an "Al Qaeda Website", it tracked back to a US company with close ties to the CIA.

------ The video file is highly compressed both image and sound, so the problems you were having were not because of your player. INdeed the video is so compressed it hovers at the edge of unusability. One thing that stands out is that the video plays at the correct speed on US systems. But Iraq uses the SECAM video standard, not NTSC, and we can assume that the camcorders for sale in Iraq use the same. So, unless there was format conversion done in a post production house, a video shot on SECAM then converted to windows media would appear to play slighty too fast on American computers. This suggests that the perps were using an NTSC (i.e. American) camcorder.

With several news outlets reporting that Berg's family is angry from the US government over their son's violent death and revelations that "Berg was detained by Iraqi police at a checkpoint in Mosul on March 24. He was turned over to U.S. officials and detained for 13 days" (in other words, he was detained by the US military just prior to his death) -- (AP 5/11/04) we have to question what really happened and who was really behind Berg's horrific murder.
We have received several emails from listeners questioning what really happened including this one:
me and a friend were discussing recent news events and trying to piece together the information presented to us, thought you might want to look into this further, they said in the news that nicholas berg was killed 2 weeks ago (i think), however in the video the culprits who killed him said they were "avenging iraqi prisoner abuse" but those photos weren't released until last week, so my question is how is that even a possible motive if he was killed prior to the abuse photos being released?? maybe i am misinformed but thought id ask the question to someone who would look into it

Hey Alex, I know people like me who have learned not to trust our government tend to see a conspiracy under every rock. With that said... The picture the media is now showing of the guy the terrorist beheaded as revenge for what went on in the Iraqi prisons looks odd to me. If you look at the men dressed in black, they all seem well fed. Actually most look fat. That bothers me, because these guys are fighting a war and eating on the run. They are constantly on the move and should be either very fit and trim or scrawny and malnourished because of the same reasons. One thing they should not be is fat like couch potatoes. If you look at all of the photos of the prisoners who were naked who supposedly were just plucked of the street, most of them are thin. Just an observation Alex

1) extremely convenient "wag the dog" timing at the height of furor regarding U.S. torture of Iraqis
2) CNN poll question: "Is the Berg killing a reason for withholding any remaining Iraq prisoner abuse pictures?" Bush has been reported to be struggling with question of whether Pentagon should release additional torture photos. Given that the alleged decapitation of Berg was allegedly prompted by the first wave of torture photos, Bush could now cite "national security" issues for witholding additional materials.
3) Berg's last known whereabouts was in U.S. custody.
4) Berg shown in video wearing orange jumpsuit known to be of U.S. issue (compare with pictures at Guantanamo).
5) Berg mysteriously captured by Al-Quaeda (still wearing jumpsuit). Either he escaped from U.S. captors or U.S. let him out -- with orange suit and all -- to be immediately apprehended by Al-Quaeda (before he had a chance to change).
6) Tape obviously spliced together and heavily edited. Goes from a) Berg sitting in chair talking about family, to b) Berg sitting on floor with hooded "militants" behind, to c) blurry camera movement, to d) almost motionless Berg on floor as head cut off.
7) Audio clearly dubbed in.
8) "Arab" reader flips through pages of "statement" and keeps ending up on the same page. Perhaps doesn't even known enough Arabic to recognize what page he's on?
9) "Arabs" have lily-white hands and (other exposed) skin.
10) "Arabs" have Western-style body posture and mannerisms.
11) When Berg decapitated, there was almost no blood. If Berg were still alive at this point, with the cut starting at front of throat, blood would have been spraying everywhere. Berg's severed head, the floor, Berg's clothes, and even the hand of the "Arab" who decapitated Berg had no visible blood on it.
12) Berg's body didn't move while on the ground. Although held down, Berg would have tried to instinctively wiggle and writhe away from captor's grip.
13) Camera angle made it impossible to see if Berg's eyes were even open.
14) Alleged "scream" from Berg sounded to be that of a woman and was clearly dubbed in.
15) Berg goes to great trouble to identify himself, providing information about his family. Why? To elicit greater sympathy? Or to provide a positive ID. FBI visited Berg family in an attempt to "verify his identity". Guy in video looks very little like Berg photos provided by family.
I believe that Berg (or this lookalike character) was first killed (perhaps by lethal injection, poisoning, etc.), then decapitated after dead (explains lack of blood spraying everywhere). Berg was killed by Al-Quaeda (known to be a CIA - Mossad joint venture). Berg video released at height of furor over U.S. torture of Iraqis and just before Bush was to decide whether to release additional torture videos. Now torture videos will be witheld from public for reasons of national security. Now "patriots" everywhere will laud the virtues of U.S. torture of "enemies". Sensitivity level of public gets heightened in terms of what's acceptable treatment of prisoners. Juxtaposed with decapitation, piling naked men into pyramid is nothing. Such treatment will be considered more and more acceptable even in domestic situations. George W. Bush sleeps well tonight while Berg family lives in torture. Serves Berg's father right for opposing Bush and the war of aggression against Iraq.

Bremer oppert mogelijkheid van vertrek VS uit Irak
De Amerikaanse bewindvoerder in Irak, Paul Bremer, heeft de mogelijkheid geopperd dat de Amerikanen zich terugtrekken uit het land. Hij zei dat de Amerikanen niet blijven in een land waar ze ,,niet welkom'' zijn.
,,Als de voorlopige regering ons vraagt om te vertrekken, zullen we vertrekken'', aldus Bremer vrijdag tijdens een lunch met Iraakse functionarissen in de provincie Diyala. Hij verwees naar de voorgenomen machtsoverdracht eind juni aan een overgangsregering. De bewindvoerder voegde er aan toe dat hij niet verwacht dat het zover komt.
---- En wie denk je dat de voorlopige regering is? Dat zijn gewoon amerikanen.

Inmiddels zijn alweer 2 a 3 Amerikanen onthoofd...wat bezielt die mensen allemaal daar..
Volgens CNN is de ontvoerde Amerikaan Paul Johnson onthoofd. Dit zou blijken uit drie foto's die gepubliceerd zijn op een Islamitische website. De 49-jarige Johnson, een werknemer van Lockheed Martin, werd afgelopen zaterdag ontvoerd in Riyadh (Saudi-Arabië). Abdel Aziz Al-Muqrin, de man die zichzelf de militaire leider van Al-Qaida in Saudi-Arabië noemt, eiste de verantwoordelijkheid op voor de ontvoering.
Dinsdag had hij gedreigd Johnsson te vermoorden als niet binnen 72 uur alle Al-Qaida gevangenen in Saudi-Arabië werden vrijgelaten. Ook wilde hij dat alle westerlingen het Arabische schiereiland zouden verlaten. ''We hebben jullie een deadline gegeven. Jullie respecteerden dit niet. Dit is wat we beloofd hadden te doen'', aldus een verklaring naast de foto's van het onthoofde lichaam.
Subheader Johnson in handen van zijn ontvoerders
Saudi-Arabië heeft nog niet kunnen bevestigen dat de man inderdaad onthoofd is. ''Wij kunnen dit nog niet bevestigen omdat er nog geen lichaam gevonden is''. Intussen hebben de Verenigde Staten Amerikaanse burgers aangeraden Saudi-Arabië te verlaten.

De Amerikaanse website Foxnews.com meldt dat het lichaam van Johnson zojuist in Riyadh is gevonden.

President Bush heeft inmiddels op het gebeuren gereageerd. ''Amerika zal zich niet laten intimideren door dit soort extremistische misdadigers. De moord op Paul laat zien hoe slecht de vijand is die we tegenover ons hebben. Er is geen enkele rechtvaardiging voor deze moord. Ze hebben hem in koele bloede vermoord. Dit moet ons er aan herinneren dat we deze mensen moeten najagen'', aldus Bush.

Zojuist is bekend geworden dat Abdel Aziz al-Muqrin, de man die de verantwoordelijkheid opeiste voor de ontvoering, gedood is terwijl hij van Johnsons lichaam probeerde af te komen. Hij kwam opeens oog in oog te staan met leden van de Saoudische veiligheidsdienst. Meer details zijn nog niet bekend
